Why Use OLBB?
Keeping up with legislation is time-consuming. While the Oregon Legislature provides public access to bills, tracking the issues you care about often means searching through hundreds of bills, subscribing to each one individually, and sorting through a flood of notification emails to determine what actually changed.
OLBB does the heavy lifting for you.
Using AI, OLBB reads every introduced bill, automatically categorizes it by topic, and updates those categories whenever a bill is amended. You can quickly browse legislation by topic, primary chief sponsor, committee referral, OGIS status, and other useful views, with additional tools planned as the project grows. Once public testimony begins, you can also easily identify bills generating significant public interest.
When you find a bill you want to follow, simply add it to your watchlist. Each night, OLBB gathers the latest activity, analyzes the changes, and delivers a concise, easy-to-read email briefing, so you can stay informed without constantly monitoring the Legislature's website.

How to use OLBB
Everything runs from the shortcuts in the bar at the top of every page. Here's the quick tour.
Find bills to watch
Two tabs up top get you there. Find by Policy Area groups every bill of the session by subject, so you can scan a topic and see everything under it. Find by Misc. Filters lets you search another way — by hot measure, primary sponsor, committee referral, Open Government (OGIS) impact, and more.
Topics are scored by AI: OLBB reads each bill as it's introduced, tags it, and re-checks the tags whenever the bill is amended. Those tags won't always line up exactly with the categories legislative staff assign later — we cast a wide net on purpose, so you can surface every bill that might touch what you care about.
When a bill looks relevant, add it to your watchlist right where you found it.
Look up a specific bill
Already know the number? Open Single Measure Digest from the top bar and type it into the bill picker — you'll jump straight to that bill's full history, sponsors, documents, and process flow.
The digest links directly to the recording at the moment each history event took place — floor readings and committee hearings and work sessions. The official OLIS site doesn't do this at all. OLBB builds the links from the published recording logs, so they land you very close to the right spot — just keep in mind it's not always frame-perfect.
Manage your watchlist
Your Watchlist tab is home base for everything you're tracking — add or remove bills there anytime.
Bills that miss a committee deadline are presumed dead. Find by Misc. Filters keeps a "Dead in Committee" list of every one of them, and lets you untrack all the dead bills you're following in a couple of clicks — so your briefings stay focused on what's still moving.
Choose your briefings & where they go
Each night OLBB emails you a briefing covering just the bills on your watchlist. There are two styles: the Legislative Process briefing, organized by where each bill sits in its lifecycle, and the Committee briefing, organized by committee with hearing and work-session detail. Which style (or styles) you can pick depends on your plan.
Open My Profile from the account button in the top-right corner to choose your briefing style(s), set which email address they're sent to, and — on Premium — turn on the audio (MP3) version.
